Adelaide is built on the belief that your inner life is yours. This policy explains simply what we collect, why, and what we never do.
Adelaide collects only what is necessary to provide the app experience:
Purpose practice reflections are stored locally on your device by default. If you enable "Back up reflections" in Settings, a copy is also saved to your private Firestore account, encrypted in transit and at rest. You can disable this at any time. You can delete all reflections from within the app.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or any third parties. We do not use it to build a profile of you. We do not run third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not use tracking pixels. We do not serve ads. We do not send marketing email beyond what you explicitly opt into.
Adelaide uses local notifications only. Notifications are scheduled entirely on your device - no push notification server receives or processes your data. You can adjust your notification window or disable notifications at any time in Settings.
Adelaide uses Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage. Your data is encrypted in transit via TLS and stored in Google's secure cloud infrastructure. Firebase security rules ensure that each user can only access their own data - no user can read another user's account. We use no other third-party infrastructure services.
Adelaide does not include any behavioral analytics library, advertising SDK, or attribution tool. We do not profile how you use the app.
Adelaide uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymized crash reports so we can fix bugs. Crash reports include device model, iOS version, and a stack trace of what the app was doing when it crashed. They do not include reflection text, scene progress, or any content you enter in the app. You can opt out by deleting the app.
Adelaide also uses Firebase App Check to verify that requests to our backend come from a real installation of the Adelaide app, not a bot or a scraper. App Check uses Apple's DeviceCheck framework and does not collect personal information.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion removes all associated Firestore data and your authentication record. Any locally stored reflections are removed from your device. All data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all data is permanently removed within 30 days. We do not retain data for inactive accounts beyond that period.

Adelaide is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Data at rest is protected by Firebase's security infrastructure. Firestore security rules ensure strict user-scoped access - no user can read or write another user's data. We review security rules before each release.
We do not share your personal data with any third party except Firebase (Google) as the infrastructure provider. Firebase's own privacy policy governs how Google handles infrastructure-level data. No other vendor, partner, or service receives your data.
If you submitted your email on our website to be notified at launch, we store it solely for that purpose. We will email you once when Adelaide is available. You can request removal at any time by emailing andrew@meetadelaide.com.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify users through the app where appropriate.
